  • for a posh family occasion, we will need a quality brunch for 10, near the station preferably new town side (eg George Street/St Andrews square type area), and most importantly somewhere that isn't noisy, because some people have hearing problems. It would be great if there was a place that has a little snug or side room that would fit us - does anyone know of good places that would do?

I thought of Browns or Cafe Rouge for example, would be great, but vetoed as too noisy. TIA

Hi snowleopard!!

We had our wedding meal at lunchtime in Cafe St Honore in Thistle Street Lane North South East West (can't remember exactly which one!!) and I can thoroughly recommend it.

There were 16 of us, and they gave us a room downstairs which was private and cosy.

We lingered for 4 hours IIRC, enjoying fantastic food wine and chat. Beforehand, they kept asking what the occasion was and I was very vague because I was worried that they might hike the prices up as soon as they heard "wedding", but one day I was caught off guard and told them! When the day came, they had hand written the menus and written "Maw and Pawbroons Wedding" at the top which was a nice touch.

Worth a look IMO.
