Edinburgh Moonwalk 20 June - anyone else signed up?

I've just signed up for the Edinburgh Moonwalk taking place on Saturday 20th June. It's 26.2 miles of powerwalk, at night, around Edinburgh, wearing a decorated bra (and other clothes!) in aid of scottish breast cancer charities like Maggies.
And now I've written it down I'm starting to feel a little scared!!!

With a few months of maternity leave left, I reckon I can fit the training in. Is anyone else doing it? Does anyone fancy a training partner? Of course most of my training will be done with pushchair or if I'm feeling really fit the sling (but think DS getting a little heavy!).

Not this year sadly, baby due in April 09 so I think it would be a little ambitious!

I did the half moon last year though and absolutely loved it - I got sooo fit through the training and had a ball on the night. I was a bit envious of the Full Moon walkers and would have loved to go for it this year, but pregnancy has got in the way!

For training I would really recommend the website www.mapmywalk.co.uk, it's brilliant for planning routes and measuring the distance, and also warns you where the hills are!

I loved walking through loads of different areas of Edinburgh, and along the canal; I thought I really knew the city well but discovered loads of little pockets I didn't know, and because you're running not walking, there's time to take it all in.

Good luck!

Is registration open now Gingerwench? I registered my interest online a couple of weeks ago but read that applications weren't being taken yet but no date was given. I definitely want to do it and am planning on doing it with a group of midwife friends.

Thanks for the good advice and wishes strawberrie. Do they stick to the same routes each year?

Hi Howdie - I registered my interest online too but heard nothing so I went to the site again and it seems to be working now.
