Which school is that only I used to do school run for my sis twice a week (St Martins and Mendip Green) though they are now at Milton but my CM still does both schools every day with my dd apart from a fri - my day off.

Weston is a pretty small place really. Everyone tends to know someone who knows someone who knows you ifkwim!!

Going on hols? Nice! I'm just working but I get fri, sat and sun off.

Hi MrsM, Just bumping for you!

CC My friends got married in Vegas and had a fantastic time, so excited for you

I'm also in Weston but haven't got round to meeting up with anyone yet!

Ooh found this again, flamin new layout.

Congrats Ms BB.

MsBrandybuck · 21/02/2009 22:00

Hi Carrie, thanks . I'm up for a 'meet up outside Mothercare' or somewhere else. I still use a buggy but DS would rather push it than ride in it now lol.

Desiderata · 21/02/2009 22:06

Scrambled .. you're in Yatton!

I was raised there. My brother still lives there.

I'm in Long Ashton at the mo!

mrsmortenharket · 22/02/2009 15:31

agree with the layout - the thread has flipped on me and i have to keep 'unflipping' it to read it normally

goingslowlyinsane · 28/02/2009 10:01

Hi, I have just joined so i hope you don't mind me butting in! Have lived in weston for about 18 months now and have found it hard to meet new people, my little one will be 3 in April

mrsmortenharket · 28/02/2009 16:31

hi

FiKelly · 01/03/2009 10:34

hi everyone just found you.. I'm in WSM just above grove pk. have a ds who's 2.5 and another on the way due mid may the day before my 39th birthday! been in weston since 2004.. dh & I moved down from scotland to help my parents. i'm now a SAHM who goes to a lot of playgroups! luckily made a few friends at post natal classes after having ds.. i agree it can be so hard to meet fellow mums..

mrsmortenharket · 01/03/2009 14:22

hi!

carrielou2007 · 01/03/2009 17:27

I have to say I do find it hard to meet up with other mums. None of my friends have children and you sort of lose touch what with working etc. I can't find ANY playgroups/toddler groups on a friday (my day off) so struggle a bit.

I was really suprised how 'competitive' parenthood has been and thought would get a more 'friendly' reaction from other mum's with little ones when out and about. I used to hate going into the change room after the feeding dd in Mothercare as I felt if I ever said hello or what a lovely baby etc etc I was looked at as if I had two heads!!

Ok when dd was tiny I prob looked like a loon with crazy hair, no makeup etc and no sleep but it has made me quite wary. I used to go to a group over by Sainsbury's in the scout hut on a tue when on maternity leave and some of the women were pretty scary and I am not one to be intimidated easily!

I have tried to develope a slightly thicker skin!!

FiKelly · 01/03/2009 19:24

carrielou IKWYM about fridays it's about the only day that i don't know of a playgroup to go to. Most friday pm's i try and meet up with a 3 girls i know from our post natal classes (when we had our dc's in 2006). We get a natter (and munch cake depending on where we decide to meet) and the dc's get a chance to play... we don't always manage it though if dc's are ill etc. I know of really good playgroups for tues/wed/thurs.

I have met quite a few competitive parents. I try to let it all just wash over my head and try not to get sucked into the well mine does this etc

Haven't set any plans for this friday yet... waiting to see if the friend who's due date is this wednesday is still around

mrsmortenharket · 03/03/2009 10:54

there used to be a storytime for toddlers up to age 4 and littlies at the campus library by heron's moor that runs on friday mornings. i can ask later if they still do it

mrsmortenharket · 26/03/2009 09:41

helloooooooooooooo

mrsmortenharket · 27/03/2009 11:10

scrambled · 28/03/2009 13:44

Bumpity bump....it's all gone quiet! Any further thoughts on meeting up plans?
