The School Run

This is a message for anyone who does the school run in a car and would be interested in earning a few quid in helping me get my DD to her beloved childminder on Monday and Tuesdays.

DD goes to school in Great Horkesley and her child minder is in West Bergholt. I really don't want to have to move her because both her and her brother are very happy there. (also there are no childminders with spaces in horkesley) However, we are going to have big problems getting DD there after xmas.

The childminder currently picks her up at 13.15 because DD is only doing half days. After xmas DD will finish at 15.15 and Childminder will need to be in West Bergholt picking up her other children from Heathlands. We have had no luck so far in finding a way to get her to Bergholt.

Does anyone do (or know of anyone else) that does a school run in a similar area and would be able to work the times to be able to pick my DD up and take her to Bergholt?? I would of course pay them. It is only on Monday and Tuesday.

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated. Xmas seems to be looming!

You didn't pluck up the courage to speak to the other Mum at the school gate then...

Is it worth speaking to the office staff and asking them if they know anyone who lives in Bergholt. I know they wont be able to give you names, but they could mention it to the other parents if they know them well enough.

Basically, the more people you tell the more likely you are to find someone.

Gosh - sounds rather stressful.

There must be people that head over to bergholt way - definitely speak to the office staff - they'll know for sure if anyone lives out that way.

As an aside - who's your childminder in bergholt? I've put it down as dd's first choice for september but will definitely need a minder for a couple of days a week.

I was thinking about this the othe day lucy,when you mentioned it.I would offer but I finish work at 1pm in Stanway,and it would be cutting it too fine to get back here for 1.15pm,also for after Xmas DD1 finishes at 3.15pm,so that isn't any good either. I will try and see if Francessca's(sp?) Mum can help or knows of anyone.

Trying to step up the campaign this week with adverts going up in West Bergholt. I haven't had a chance to speak to her about it yet mung - but will try to muster something up this week!

Sawyer that is really kind of you to be thinking about it for me - I realised that it would not be possible for you. Any ideas or other mums you know would be great though.
