Hi, I'm in Harpenden and need a tree surgeon to take a look at a tree (obviously) that has come down into our back garden. Would be grateful for any recommendations.

And can I just giggle at the fact that the council tree officer is called Mr Branch?

Also a moan about the council saying nothing to do with them as it's in an alleyway BUT we have to apply for permission if the darn thing needs significant work as we are in a conservation area? Seems most unfair they claim it's not their responsibility but we need their approval to do anything about it. Self-seeding bloody goat willow apparently so NOT something that is important or anything. Grrr.

at Mr Branch

I don't know if this is any help, but I always use St Albans Tree and Garden Services www.st-albans-trees.co.uk for any major tree work in our garden.
I have always found them to be reasonably priced and lovely too
Bit more local to me than you, but may be worth a try. Will come out fairly quickly to do a free estimate.
