New Roundhay Mum!

Hi everyone

I am a first time mum to my gorgeous little boy who is coming up to three months old. He was born premature and is only 5 weeks past his due date, so is that age in terms of development.

I am absolutely loving being a mummy, but know as the weather gets worse I'm gonna need to have something structured to go out to - it is too easy to stay cosy and toasty inside! It would also be great to meet some other local mums with babies of a similar age.

Does any body know of any mother and baby groups in the Roundhay/Moortown/Oakwood areas? I quite fancy baby massage if any one knows of any groups?

Thank you!

Hiya HTW

Congratulations on your new gorgeous DS!

There is a group on here that meet up around the Roundhay area. I'm sure they will be along soon x

Hey HTW

Iam mummy to Charlie who is 6 months. We go to St Andrews church on a Tues at 1.30. The group is especially for newbies up to 1 year so lovely for little ones.

We did arange a walk in Roundhay Park too and should do that again maybe one day next week?

There is a baby massage group on at Chapeltown Children Centre but not sure of the number, time etc. Baby Cafes at Chapeltown and Moortown are pretty good too.

Speak soon

I am really enjoying the breast-feeding cafe at Moortown Baptist Church on Thursdays from 1:00 to 2:30. Its on the big roundabout at the top of Street Lane & King Lane.

Otherwise, we are mainly doing toddler based stuff for DD1 so can't be of much more help for baby stuff.

Hi everyone, thanks for replying, sorry it has taken me some tine to come back to you!

I'm bottle feeding so that counts me out of the breast feeding cafe's, but thanks so much for the other info. I will definately chase up the other.

The st andrews church one sounds perfect - do you know how I get in touch with those who arrange it?

Am i being totally thick, or is there not a central place where there is a list of all the baby groups in an area?

If anyone else has any other ideas, keep them coming!!

there are a few NCT postnatal groups as well. The one on a tuesday at the Childrens centre in Chapel Allerton is good. It's on Leopold Street at the bottom of Potternewton Lane. Check out the NCT website as I know there is a Roundhay group as well.

If you have a look on the Netmums site , there is lots of good local information

saffron...I might see you at the baby cafe on Thursday ; I'm hoping to get up there for some advice as DS isn't latching on terribly well still

Oh - just found baby yoga at The Yogaspace on Meanwood Rd. Fridays at 11:00. We loved it last week! Your LO is the perfect age for it too.

Hi there
There's a music group at Harehills Lane Baptist Church, Hilton Place, LS8 4HF, every Tuesday in term time 10-11 only 50p. At the same place same time every Weds there's a Jabadao (movement play) group too.

Both lovely friendly groups run by Surestart (although soon to be taken over by mums when funding runs out due to the cuts)

I'm usually there with Megan (2) and Bella (5 months)

Hope that helps

Amy x

Hi! We've just started Baby Yoga at Headingley Children's Centre. It's fab and is much less expensive than the private classes x
