Hi, I live between Muswell Hill and Crouch End. Would love to take my 6month old daughter to a singing group - particularly keen to learn lots of nursery rhymes. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I love Tick Tock. It's probably best for children a few months older than yours but then it tends to have a pretty long waiting list so it might be worth putting your name down.

We did Monkey Music for a couple of sessions but it was disappointing so we gave it up. But it may well depend on the person leading the class and I would bet there is one near you so it might be worth checking out.

There are a lot of groups for singing with babies/young children at local libraries and children's centres in Haringey - it's usually kids' action songs not nursery rhymes. And best of all, they're free, and they're usually drop-in though you may need to make the effort to get there at the start time.

As I'm in Tottenham the groups ds has gone or goes to are quite a way from you but you could contact Hornsey Library in Crouch End. Stonecroft is the nearest Children's Centre to you I know the name of but there may be others open or opening up. You might find more details on www.haringey.gov.uk though it may not be up to date. I received a very impressive list of current children's centre baby and toddler drop-ins in my area, I just hope they'll send me another for January onwards when I'm on maternity leave again/2nd baby is born.

We love Jeremy up this way (Ally Pally) too. He's in Albert Park on Thursdays at 10:30 and is brilliant.

Also, if you are near us, Alexandra Palace library has something with lots of singing for babies on a Wednesday afternoon. It's worth looking at the libraries section on the council website - they seem to do loads.
