Decent builders in Teddington area - any recommendations (or not)!

Hi

I need a man (well several in fact) to possibly do some work on a house I'm interested in buying. It's rather unloved and would require an internal overhaul (cosmetic work and replacement of bathroom/kitchen) and window replacement. Does anyone have any recommendations?

thanks

Mel

We're getting quotes in at the moment for exactly this - complete overhaul of our house - new bathroom, kitchen, windows, electrics, plumbing and decorating everywhere. Will let you know how we get on (haven't had any quotes back yet).

  • worth noting most people we have spoken to have said they are fully booked until after Christmas.

LuluBai- thanks for that. The builders I've spoken to have rolled their eyes and said they're too busy (as you said) at the moment, I suppose they usually shut down over Dec and Jan. Let me know if you have any luck.

Have to say - they aren't exactly biting our hands off to get the work. We're really having to chase people to try and get them to even quote for the job.

Once we have some concrete responses I will let you know, but so far we have sent job specs out to 9 builders and only one has actually been round to come and have a look at the house itself. Not one has indicated how much they would charge.

(I'm getting just a tad twitchy as the clock keeps ticking - I'm 4 months pregnant and so have a very real deadline!)

Hi there,

We have just moved to Teddington last month and my husband is looking for local work. He is a carpenter and would happily come and quote for any work required.

Please take a look at his website www.pmccarpentry.vpweb.co.uk

Hope this helps!
