Hi everyone

Am new to this site and also a new mum. I have a 6 week old daughter and despite being the ripe old age of 33 none of my friends have kids yet!! I would love to meet up with some other mums for a chat and a coffee :-) Am also interested in baby massage and baby signing.Do any of you know if anything like this is available in Banbury? maybe you might be interested in joining me? Starting to get cabin fever stuck in the house now!!

There are Sing'n'Sign classes somewhere in the area, although I don't go, but do know a couple of people who do - will check with them tomorrow!

Baby massage and baby swimming are run by a couple of the midwives from the Horton. I'll look out for the poster next time I'm around there and post the details for you. But you can ask your health visitor because she holds a list of them for you.

I'm out in Barford St Michael, if you fancy a trip out I am hosting mums and tots this Friday morning. (We do have babies too - I have a ten week old as well as a two year old!)

We tend to go to Baby bounce at the spiceball, not so much fun when they are absolutely tiny but when they get older it's very cool.

hi there! I'm 33 too and just had number 3 - a ds. I'd be up for meeting up sometime.

Depending on where you are locate and check out your nearest childrens centre, they tend to offer loads of drop ins etc. the sunshine centre is definately offering baby massage courses.

also 1st time mums locally are offered post-natal groups with the health visitors. maybe ask your health visitor of you can get invited to one of those too.

I picked up two leaflets today which might be of interest.

Sing and Sign classes in Banbury, Bicester, Brackley and Buckingham - Corma Holmes, 01280 - 704705, website www.singandsign.co.uk
(but leaflet states is for babies 7 18 months).

Baby massage, Marianne Allitt, 01295 - 269376, can join class or book one-to-one.

I have a four month old and would love to join you for classes and/or meeting up. I am new to the area and only 10 mins from Banbury and drive so happy to travel. I know from experience that you can certainly get pretty bad cabin fever after the first few weeks at home (very few of my friends have children) so if you just fancy a coffee and getting out let me know as love meeting other Mum's

Hi Ladies

Thanks for the great responses :-) It was very kind of you to find details of the sign and sign for me. You are right though as she's a little young for it yet. am defo going to look into the baby massage though. i've emailed the midwives who run baby bliss to see when they run it.

would be great to meet up in banbury for a decent coffee. If anyone wants to meet up please email me at [email protected] and we can organize it. Just to let everyone know i'm bottle feeding my baby expressed milk and formula. Just wanted to get that out the way as i've encountered a couple of people who are so pro breast feeding that they just make me feel bad. I did try!!

look forward to hearing from you :-))

Hi, I recently moved to the area and have a 5 month old baby...would love to meet in Banbury for coffee..

louisealls · 27/04/2010 15:01

hi I live in BAnbury and looking to meet new mums for a chat and perhaps go to some classes, i have a 5 month old daughter.

ThePrisoner · 05/05/2010 18:09

Hi louisealls - I'm a childminder, and no longer a parent of small children (mine are huge!)

I wondered what sort of classes it is that you are looking for - the Sing'n'Sign classes are still run by Corma Holmes, and there are lots of toddler group-type things in the area, depending what area you live in. Rugrats is worth a visit, even with a baby.

Hi, I live in Banbury and have a 7 year old boy and a brand new baby boy. I have moved here from America, and I'd like to make some mom friends. Anyone interested in getting together for a coffee or something?

ThePrisoner · 12/11/2010 18:22

Hi keeper - I work as a childminder so tend not to do purely "social" stuff (hope that doesn't make me sound too anti-social!!), but I do go to various child-related groups in Banbury if you are interested. There are certainly lots of other mums who would be there!
