oh god, giraffes, i cannot believe the amount of cards i've got from mners... i am So Going to say yet another Proper Thankyou tonight, at the risk of sounding like some sort of ghastly Pollyanna. Stand by for more wailing from me later...

I'm in Gorbals, which is at least South of the river.

The only thing I've gone to round about is the Mother and Toddler's group at Queen's Park Church. It's a Tuesday and/or Thursday morning from 10:00-11:30 (or maybe 10:30-12:00 but I think the former... not been since the new term started as I've had so much on recently but planning to start back soon).

I'm in - well, not sure what to call it - Crossmyloof? Shawlands? That sort of bit anyway.

The M&T at Queen's Park Baptist Church is great! Its called 'playbreak' and they take your kids away so you can sit and chat/have coffee etc - staffed by loads of volunteers of 'Women of a certain age' and its brill - dd2 went there for a year after we got to Glasgow. Its my church as well so feel proud/proprietal of it.

Otherwise - good swimming pool in Bellahouston Park. Couple of really good softplays - Whale of a Time in Shawlands Arcade, Sportykids out towards Rouken Glen, which is in itself brilliant. Pollok park playground good and has a coffee stall plus the Burrell just there as well.

I like living on the Southside and would meet for coffee no bother - have no kids to bring through the day as they are all in school now! And I send them over to the West End for that to the Glasgow Gaelic School!

I'm in the southside in Simshill (Near enough Kingspark and Cathcart!). Moved from Kingspark last September.

I have a son who will be 2 at the end of October. Where are you?

Queens Park is really good with the Glasshouse for coffee and a small softplay area inside.

giraffescantdancethetango · 14/10/2008 14:36

sorry just seen these now - oops!

weegiemum if that offer of a coffee sometime is still on would happily take you up on it, my social circle has shrunk big time and would be lovely to meet some new people.

Aah yes Janie was there, last week was good! Possibly going back on Thursday this week if your interested.

Oh and we went to whale of a time last week, thanks for that idea. They loved it...me on the other hand my bp was through the roof lol.

2yr old got stuck in that bit in the big kids bit you know the 2 sloping blue soft play bits with a rope swingy thing in the middle and I had to get a member of staff to rescue him mind you said member of staff was rather dishy... Although I ended up going the wrong way along kilmarnock road, we got on bus and I suddenly realised things looking posher...and posher and before I knew it we were in Giffnock ah well nice wee bus ride for the kids there...
