Hi sawyer - im afraid i cant come after all - doctors appointment. Looks like you will be having a crowd though!

I have decided i actually like DS's hair now! He looks like a real boy. (no longer a wooden pinnochio!) Just WHEN will he start talking?? im getting frustrated at not being able to communicate properly with him - hes 19mo now - surely he should have more words than - mama, dada, orangejuice (!) eye, and the all time favourite 'nda' which serves as noun, adjective, verb - you name it!

purple - hope all goes smoothly xx

JentlyDoesIt · 17/09/2008 09:34

Pooter, don't worry too much, DS didn't start really picking up words til he was about 19 months, then he has picked up tons, including a few 2 word sentances, in the last couple of months (he's now 22 months). I found he actually understood what I was saying loads more than he let on and that his word recognition was good too - i.e pointing things out in the book "where is the umbrella" etc.

HTH.

purpleflower · 17/09/2008 09:46

Thanks pooter.

DS is 2 in a couple of weeks and doesn't say anything other than mama, dada, buba, hiya and cat. He understands everything, he's just taking his time

MrsMagooo · 17/09/2008 11:00

Pooter - DD was the same, seemed to take ages for her to say anything other then Mama, Dada, Harrah (the dog) & the all time favourite, cake!!

She hit 21/22 months & words just started falling out of her mouth!!

MadameCastafiore · 17/09/2008 11:05

Hi chaps - am afraid I won't be able to join you tomorrow, will let you know when I see you all why - you may be able to guess by big bandage on nose and black eyes though!! - hope you have lots of fun and hopefully see you all soon.

How about a Blue Strawberry night one day soon?

Saz126 · 17/09/2008 12:25

New bits...fab! Let me know when good to pop round..

JentlyDoesIt · 17/09/2008 20:35

Sawyer - really sorry but going to have to drop out as well. I have an on going problem with my wrist (DeQuervein's tendonitis) and it's got really bad - I can't bend my hand or even hold a pen going to see the dr tomorrow a.m to try and get some pain relief. Having an operation on 10th Oct to release the tendons...

Looking forward to seeing the new you MC!

Hope tomorrow goes well, see you all soon.

Sawyer64 · 17/09/2008 22:27

Ok Jently. I can sympathise, that is really painful.I know a little of what its like as have had several "bouts" of Carpal Tunnel syndrome" with pregnancies, and after. It'll be a relief to get it sorted in October.

Hope to see you and MadameC soon.

Also realised when I came back from Clacton this week, when I went for an interview, there is a part of the road(R'bout/Junction??) a little way before the Big Roundabout in Colchester (where you can go to Ipswich too) that directs you off to the Left for Colchester,I ignore this and stay on the Dual Carriageway(A133?)

Sorry to seem vague,I only moved here in 2007.But it is a direct run from Clacton, just stay on the Main Road until you hit the Big R'bout.

Hope you all had a nice morning, it turns out I could've come in the end. Dad let me down as he doesn't want to get our cold, thats the whole reason I asked him to have DS for a couple of hours so I could get some rest as this cold has wiped me out. What happens if I have the baby tomorrow will he not come and see it incase he gets a cold

Sorry about the rant he just really pissed me off, it's the only thing I have asked from him for months and months. DS isn't sure who he is anyway so it's probably for the best

Hope you got a docs appt for your hand Jently and that all went well today MadameC.

MrsMagooo · 18/09/2008 13:55

Sawyer I'm so sorry I had to let you doen last min - I hope you got my email?

Been having the same problem for a few weeks now & I'm back & forth from the docs almost every other day it seems with no real answers

I'm so sorry - I hope you had a lovely time

Mung · 18/09/2008 14:03

Thanks for this morning Sawyer, hope there wasn't too much mess!

There are a lot of ill people about...hope you all get better soon.

SparklyPrincess · 18/09/2008 17:18

Second that, thanks for having us we had a lovely morning. Sorry about the tantrum on the way out! I'm sure they were supposed to stop on her third birthday!?

Best wishes to all the ill people ...

Rant away Purpleflower - my folks are useless too! Hope you're feeling better soon. Must be pretty much d-day?

See you all soon ...

lucyfer2000 · 18/09/2008 22:26

Thanks for a lovley morning sawyer - zac is most enthused with your lawnmowers!

I hope you get some well deserved sleep Purpleflower... you are going to need it because it will be much harder to catch up when new bubba is here!! I don't when you are due but if there is anything i can do to help on a Thursday or Friday (before or after the new one!) - just shout. I could take your DD down the park or something for a couple of hours while you sleep or chill out. I know what it is like to feel completely exhausted!!

slighty intrigued by your post madame.. i hope you are ok though as black eyes sound PAINFUL!!

Hope everyone else is feeling fit soon!
xxx

Sawyer64 · 19/09/2008 17:20

Thanks everyone, had a nice morning too.No more mess than my two DD's can manage on their own,so nothing new there!

Using DH's laptop as my cable has "fallen apart" (very technical term!)

Hope everyone feels better soon.

I did get your E mail, passed on by DH,but havent been able to log on until now.I'm only a nurse, but if there any help/advice I can give you MrsM,feel free to e mail me.

Same goes for me purpleflower,if I can help with DS......? Difficult when we don't know each other well, but the offer is there.

OP posts:
pooter · 19/09/2008 20:32

hi everyone
MadameC i feel like i know a celebrity!!! Go on, you can tell us - you ARE Davina arent you??

Purple Same goes for me - would you like me to come over and take DS to the park, or just play with him while you have a nap?? My email address is on this thread somewhere or other. Afternoons better for us - dont be shy - just say when .

sawyer i bought a peppa pig book for DS following our last meetup - your dd made me realise that my education was sorely lacking!!

I have made a momentous decision to do a part time uni course - French - three lectures a week, but unfortunately one is on a Thursday afternoon - BOOOOO so i will be offering to host on a different day in the near future when ive got the hang of uni again!

Hope to see you all soon xxxx

Mung · 20/09/2008 08:55

Well done you Pooter...thats great (about the French, not the Peppa Pig!). I'll bring the book back for you next time we meet up. I have loads of grammar books and geeky things like that you can borrow if you need them.

purpleflower · 20/09/2008 12:56

Thank you so much for your very kind offers. I think I should be ok for now but we will have to see when the baby comes. Luckily DP is great and gets up with DS when he is home and does most of the childcare so I do get a break. I've been really wiped out this week with a cold so I'm sure I should start feeling better soon.

I'm due on Friday so any labour vibes sent my way will be more than welcome

MrsMagooo · 20/09/2008 16:55

Sawyer that's really kind of you thanks hun - I shall drop you an email

Sawyer64 · 20/09/2008 18:07

No probs.MrsMagoo

Glad you are feeling a little more rested Purpleflower Labour Vibes being sent over as I post!

How exciting.......Not long now.
Hopefully you'll start getting a big rush of energy,I always did just before I was due (although never gone into labour "naturally" )Something about Nesting Instinct and all that...
