Twims · 07/09/2008 21:30

sophierosie · 07/09/2008 21:34

I actually am rather excited about wedneday - dd has her first dance lesson and I'm off to London!

MrsMagooo · 08/09/2008 10:45

Twims · 08/09/2008 10:49

Twims · 08/09/2008 10:50

Nope Waitrose opens next October if John Lewis website is correct.

SparklyPrincess · 08/09/2008 11:28

Have I forgotten something again?!

Twims · 08/09/2008 11:34

Come on SP what's happening Wednesday>

MadameCastafiore · 08/09/2008 11:44

Hoorah - that means I will be able to work there in the daytime as DS will be at school!!!

Anyway what is happening Wednesday?

purpleflower · 08/09/2008 12:04

What's happening? I'm curious.

Next october is good for waitrose, it gives DP a year to find a better paid job as I only live a 5 minute walk from there

MadameCastafiore · 08/09/2008 12:10

Do you think I should apply now? Shall I just send them a letter begging them to let me work doing the beeping ont he till - see I have very high aspirations!!

(Am Twinkie by the way but have changed name!)

Twims · 08/09/2008 12:24

"Beeping on the till" Love it!

Where's Mung gone she started this and no-one knows whats happening on Wednesday but now everyone wants to know!!

Mung · 08/09/2008 13:06

SP...you disappoint me...I thought that being a geeky scientist you would have been getting all excited like this guy. He is SO enthusiastic that I am now keen to find out more myself, the trouble is that I am too stupid and cannot even begin to understand what is going on. At least Pooter showed she knows what its all about .

You could participate in the building of Waitrose MC and then you would be sure of a job.

Knew about the Hadron collider but didn't know it was this wednesday...

Fingers crossed the earth doesn't get sucked into a black hole, eh?

Mung · 08/09/2008 13:17

Phew...

OP posts:
SparklyPrincess · 08/09/2008 14:28

And how come I'M the one that gets called a geek here, by the way!!

Mung · 08/09/2008 14:44

Sorry SP...geeky scientist to be precise. I will hold my hands (and head up) to the label of 'geeky Francophile'. MCF will probably shoot me down, but hey ho...

How is DD getting on at pre-school?

OP posts:
JentlyDoesIt · 08/09/2008 16:34

This politics geek is soooo confused!

MC - Love the idea of you in a hard hat

MadameCastafiore · 08/09/2008 16:39

WHOOOOSH!!!!!

That is the sound of the whole convo going over my hard hatted head?

Have no idea what anyone is talking about!!!!!!

SparklyPrincess · 08/09/2008 19:41

It's a socking great physics experiment.

They're speeding up teeny bit of stuff in a huge underground tunnel to really really fast, smacking them into one another and seeing what happens.

CERN

It's a bit like how toddlers find out about the expensive stuff.

DDs getting on well - was a bit concerned when she came home in borrowed trousers today but it turned out she'd just been a bit enthusiastic with the water play ...

DD2's really jealous though. She gets really upset cos I take her into a hall full of toys then bring her straight home. And repeat 2 1/2 hours later!

JentlyDoesIt · 08/09/2008 20:13

Ah, it's not rocket science then...

My cousin lectures and researches physics at Sheffield Uni she's quite clever am sure she understands the whole thing!

MrsMagooo · 09/09/2008 05:49

AAhhh!! Yes had forgotten all about that!!

Mung · 10/09/2008 20:23

It was ll a bit disappointing...I thought that they were actually going to make them 'bang' today, but instead they just let the protons have a slow guided tour of Switzerland.

OP posts:
SparklyPrincess · 11/09/2008 16:12

That's what I thought. Quite entertaining really, cos there were a lot of journalists trying to be funny abou1t the whole 'is the world going to end' thing.

Guessing they've probably thrown some protons at each other by now and we all seem to be here!
