Hi everyone - anyone?

Our fave restaurant is closed Mondays, cinema doesn't seem special enough, Theatre Royal doesn't seem to have anything on...

Help, any ideas?

I'm pregnant so we can't just go out to the pub not that we ever do anyway!

Babysitter sorted.

What did you do for yours?

Thanks in advance.

Hotel Du Vin is supposed to be great though I haven't been yet.

I like Tere a Tere but not sure if it's open on Mondays.

Bills is really lovely too.

You could always go into London for the theatre of a dance show or something. Spoilt for choice there of course.

I went out to two nightclubs on my birthday in a sad attempt to experience Brightons supposedly legendary night life but they were both pretty crap.

pinktree · 07/09/2008 11:18

Thanks Spidermama!

Terre a Terre is the fave restaurant!

Hadn't thought of hotel du vin or going to London will have a look at whats on.

Money is a bit tight...

Yes we just don't even think about going to night clubs anymore, sadly - went to the honeyclub for a hen do and found it utterly depressing! Although that is probably the worst!

I see you love the restaurant so much you've even got the spelling right.

If you like Terre a Terre you might well like Bills very much. There's one in Brighton and one in Lewes. The Lewes one is the original and so people say it's better, but for me you can't beat Brighton.

ShinyPinkShoes · 07/09/2008 12:03

My Hotel in Brighton is lovely

pinktree · 07/09/2008 16:11

ooh what hotel is that ShinyPinkShoes?

Oh I'm not usually a good speller Spidermama, promise I hadn't noticed!

LOl oh that is very funny!

Is it MABS?
Lovely bar....that is as far as I've got

if money is tight and you fancy something different, Kambis on western road is great - persian and lebenese food. Maybe not 'special' but wonderful food and a great experience.
otherwise, I would second HdV (most special night out in Brighton I think) , Bills, Carluccios is great (special and reasonably priced), La Fourchette is good for french, Indian Summer is great for different Indian food; Drakes was good when we went (but that was a while ago), Circa in Lewes is good (but again, haven't been for a while),- you could always do lovely cocktails at somewhere like HdV or Koba and then go somwhere less flash for dinner?? Whatever, have a lovely time!

dilbertina · 08/09/2008 08:04

How about Pintxo People?
here

furrycat · 08/09/2008 12:08

Am I the only person here who hates Bills

Have had breakfast there a couple of times. It wasn't great and I thought it was pricey for what it was. I wouldn't go again

(runs for cover)

foothesnoo · 08/09/2008 12:17

I think Bills is overpriced and overrated too.

Hotel Du Vin or Seven Dials Restuarant? (For pricey food)

I love Red Snapper at the Dials too for a cheap meal - gorgeous thai food and bring your own wine - might ot be special enough though.

Also - if you're pregnant and not drinking - can really recomend driving out to "The Jolly Sportsmanwww.thejollysportsman.com/"

foothesnoo · 08/09/2008 12:18

Pinxto Poeple is nice food but also really over priced - the dishes are all tiny and so the price really mounts up (it's tapas)

friendly · 08/09/2008 21:03

I've gone off Bill's too. Used to love it. Went recently and had pretty sloppy service and drank my whole cappucino without realising it had bright pink lipstick round the rim. I was wearing none. Like to think I'm pretty observant! Got a free breakfast anyway.

We did Hotel du Vin and Terre a terre on our 9th anniversary, a happy evening which resulted in ds4!

Hope you have a lovely evening whatever you do. H du V and T a T would be my choice but not cheap.

Spidermama · 08/09/2008 22:58

Last time I went to Terre a Terre Paul McCartney came in with Heather. So obviously it's high time I went again.
