Party venues

I need a venue for my DS 6th birthday, nothing flash, but somewhere with low cellings and possibly black,dark or easy to black out. He wants a alien/space party. It needs to be big enough for around 40 people.

Copford village hall is quite good. Excellent size, although the ceilings are not all that low.

I suppose it depends where you live, but I am sure that most village halls, especially the older ones, will be suitable.

We live about 40 mins from colchester but DS goes to school 10 mins from colchester, so we thought it might be unfair asking all the parents totravel.
