Hi,
I'm new to net mums, ad it's taken me ages to find out how to 'start a thread' so bear with me!
I'm 33 and a full time mum and to Elliott 2 and Harry 10 months. Have been finding it exhausting and to be honest quite lonely, and since I don't know any other mums in the area, I'm hoping there's someone out there that might like to meet up for a coffee, chat, play in the park or whatever!?
I been to toddler groups, but with 2 boys to keep in check I've never found I get the chance to chat as always spend my time runing around after the 2 of them!
Hopefully look forward to hearing from you!
Hayley

I'm down the road to you, not a mum though but a dad, and as from 4 weeks ago, I only have my 4 year old son every weekend (at the moment) and that is taken up by things we used to do during the week when I had him, but there are plenty of mums in the area around here on here

keevamum · 02/09/2008 12:47

Hi wearymummy. I am in Shenfield. I am mum to 2 DD's. An 8 year old and a 2 year old. I am going back to work soon for 3 days a week but am still around for beg of each week. Where abouts are you?

wearymummy · 02/09/2008 15:06

Hi Keevamum,I'm actually in Hutton, so not far at all. Do you find any of the local groups any good? I know of one, think it's at the Hutton Free Church. I've bee there a few times, but not since my eldest started pre-school.
Are you looking forward to going back to work? I was hoping to return 3 days a week, but with the cost of child care for 2, and train fare etc it just didn't work out for me! Shame as I'd like to have the best of both worlds, although you might not see it like that???

Hi, Where has your eldest started preschool?
Yes I agree about work am hoping to have best of both worlds too but we'll see how it pans out. Childcare is a killer isn't it? I am going to try to find a gymnastics club for Monday mornings to entertain my 2 year old who loves climbing and rolling etcetera. Tuesdays I often go to the library for their song time which she also enjoys. Have you ever been? It's at 10 am on Tuesday at Shenfield library, we could try to catch each other there if you like and then maybe go for a coffee afterwards if you are up for it. Let me know.

wearymummy · 03/09/2008 14:26

He's one day at Hutton Pre-school and 2 days at Jack and Jill in Wash Road (don't ask!). I have heard about the sessions at the Library but hadn't been as he's not one to sit still, nothing ventured nothing gained I guess??? Having said that he's at pre-school on a Tuesday am, but there's nothing to stop me taking my youngest along, never to young to start I guess?! I'm afraid I don't know of any clubs on a Monday, but have you ever been to/heard of Funky Monkeys in Romford?

keevamum · 06/09/2008 09:38

What's funky Monkeys? It sounds interesting! Have just found out will prob be on a course at work Tues mornings until Xmas so library meet is now out. Would be interested to hear about Funky monkeys though.

smartiejake · 06/09/2008 10:02

Hi essex mums I am not far away in Billericay. My dds are a little older(10 and 12) but I would be up for meeting new friends.

keevamum · 06/09/2008 17:54

Hi Smartiejake yes we should definitely arrange something. Mondays would be best for me at the moment. Maybe meet up in a Brentwood coffee shop one Monday. Let me know which ones you can make and if Wearyummy can make it too. Also if anyone else wants to join in from around there. I know Bubblagirl is quite local from talking on another post if she's around too.

wearymummy · 06/09/2008 18:13

Hi keevamum,
Shame about tne course, I'm sure we can sort something else out! Anyway, Funky Monkeys is a cafe / play centre in Romford for under 8's, open daily from 10am - 6pm. It's a one storey structure,so you can pretty much see what's going on from the comfort of your seat! Fantastic! Although it's obviously free-play, they do also do classes, such as arts and crafts, cooking, dancing etc (altho haven't tested any out so far!) We all love it there, we usually try and go once a week. I highly recommend it!

Hi Smartiejake,
Nice to hear from you. I bet with two older children you have lots of word of wisdom! Am happy to meet up, Billericay is just a stone's throw! I've seen that you work PT. What would suit you best?
Anyone else from Billericay, Hutton, Shenfield, Brentwood etc out there????

smartiejake · 07/09/2008 09:48

I work on all day mon and tues and half day weds so Monday not really any good unless in half term.

keevamum · 08/09/2008 12:02

That's a shame smartiejake. Your hours and mine are the exact opposite so am guessing we won't really get a chance to meet up!! However, that's no reason for you two not to meet up on your days off and maybe I can do the same on mine. Would love to do Funky Monkeys with my little monkey one day, if you're interested Wearymummy and if there's anyone else out there?

wearymummy · 11/09/2008 10:17

Okay, let's get this sorted! Smartiejake, Thursday mornings would be better for me, as DS1 at pre-school. Shall we meet up in the next week or 2?

Keevamum, I'm guessing you can only do a Monday? DS1 at pre-school on a Monday am. Happy to meet one afternoon, can do Funky Monkeys, am happy with whatever, although I should warn you that if DS1 is a little tired he can be quite a little horror. He still needs his afternoon nap (although I wouldn'tlet that stop me from getting out and about!)

Anyway I'll CAT you both so you have my email!

Sounds great Thursday mornings work for me. Look forward to your CAT.

wearymummy · 16/09/2008 15:18

Hi Smartiejake,
Am really sorry, I can't find you email .. I have too many emails in my inbox .. need to do some housekeeping!! Anyway, are you free Thurs 25th Sep?

Hi Keevamum, Are you okay .. how's things going at work, are you settling in okay? How's you DD's?

smartiejake · 16/09/2008 19:25

Hi weary- I have sent you another e-mail with my details on so you can call.

I can meet on 25th but not too early as my daughter has a hospital appointment at Nuffield in SHenfield at 9.30. Unless we really get held up should be able to meet you at about 10.30/ 11 ish. There are quite a few places in Billericay for coffee. I suggest either Costa coffee (right in the middle of the high street) or perhaps the village grill which is up near Waitrose.

If you get the e-mail with my number on perhaps you could let me have your number in case we get held up. Not usually a prob at the Nuffield but wouldn't want you to be sitting there for ages waiting for me!

keevamum · 22/09/2008 19:53

Hi sorry i haven't got back to you yet. Work has been manic but fun. I am really enjoying being back but now feel fitting extra things in are going to be difficult. I am still free on Monday mornings/ Tuesday afternoons or Wednesday mornings so could potentially meet up somewhere if you would like to then. Thanks for the e-mail and once again sorry for being crap at responding.
