Hi, was wondering if anyone could recommend a good, patient, kind driving instructor who is not easily scared! I have decided to start taking lessons even though I am terrified of driving, so think need to pick instructor carefully. Thanks

i learnt to drive in edinburgh
i cant remember the instructors name but it was through the AA
you dont have to be a member
i liked them because
they dont have teeny cars like micras etc - dh would never have a small car so i wanted to learn to drive in the style of car i would be driving after i passed
they get paid a salary so it doesnt matter to them how long you take to pass - ie they dont make you take more lessons than you need
they were so patient but also laid back and gve me tons of confidence
they helped a lot with the paper test too

i would really recommend

Hi
I went through 5 instructors and it took me 2 years and was probably the most difficult thing I ever did in jy adult life! I settled on learning to drive automatic as I was so fed up and was feeling as though I was being fleeced all the time. Pete Watts at Alan's on London Road got me through. He was brillinat, patient and highly entertaining! Now that I have passed it has changed my life.

Good Luck x

Are you actually in Edinburgh? Because I had an amazing instructor in Falkirk.

I learned with 'Drivings Cool', but my lovely instructor has since gone back to his old job in insurance. I'd recommend them in general though.

Good luck, it's a blimmin' nightmare but if I can pass then anybody can!

thanks for all the recommendations! turned out my DP bought me a voucher from Alan's for my birthday so I am glad to see you were happy with them, cookiemg. Now I just have to save up to buy my Provisional (putting off driving lessons as long as possible emoticon)
