Does anyone know of good playgroups in the Balham area? My son is almost 8 months old & I am struggling to find activities for weekdays! Thank you x

Balham Baptist on Ramsden Road have one - it's on every morning
I think they have a waiting list to join

There are also a few playgroups run at St Stephens on Weir Rd
One is the NCT one but there are others

Pitter Patter - St Stephen's Church, Weir Road, SW12 0NU
Wednesdays 10:00am - 11:30am.

www.claphamnct.com lists playgroups under the new parents link

There's a few in Clapham; is that too far? Wednesdays at Holy trinity Church on the common and one at St. John's Church on Clapham High street. Both about 10am till 12 noon i think. Thursday at St. paul's church, rectory Grove SW4 9:45 till 11:45. Mondays at the back of The Battersea Arts Centre on Lavender Hill in the Lower Hall, about 9:30 till 11 I think. Some may shut over the summer about mid July but St. John's stays open

Thanks Peasoup, will definately check those out - maybe see you there

The Contact Centre on Abbeville Road - not too far from Balham - playgroup Tuesday mornings and Blueberry music on Monday mornings. Loads of other stuff going on too during the week.

Balham Leisure Centre does baby swimming Tuesday afternoons if that's of interest.

this is useful info! can anyone tell me what time the thursday afternoon playgroup at st luke's is? Or is anyone aware of any other .afternoon groups. I find we can potter through mornings but afternoons need something I can focus on..thanks for any advice...

TheBlonde · 01/10/2008 18:46

I think it's 2-4pm

Lotster · 04/10/2008 15:05

Just tried out St Luke's myself last week, its now 2.30-4.30 and although they put you on a waiting list, the lady running it took my details then said as long as you turn up early it's usually fine to stay anyway.

Think it was a pound in the box or something similar, and they do teas and biscuits. They clear up at 4pm to finish with a sing song.
