Hello there ladies, I am a mum with a DS of 2, living in N17 since he was born I am admittedly getting increasingly stressed and distressed. No friends locally, messy house, inadequate childcare and a demanding ft job I have to keep to pay the bills. I feel I am running around completing nothing and pleasing no-one - especially not myself...Can anyone relate? Can anyone help, advise or take me out 4 a drink?!

Hi Blessed, I can relate to some of what you're saying. Whereabouts roughly in N17 are you? I'm in Tottenham too but south of you in N15. Back at work, ds is 1, though my CM is really lovely. Perhaps we could meet up one weekend daytime - I could do an evening if you prefer but it would have to be one where dp could look after our son and I do get very tired at the moment.

Thanks for replying Elkie, meeting in the daytime would be great...I can't remember when I last went out in the evening. My mum is down this weekend but next weekend would be great, I know I'm making myself sound like a sad case but I never have anything of interest planned so this'll make a nice change. Perhaps we could have a play date? Take our DS's to soft play (I think there might be one if the leisure centre at Philip Lane) or swimming or something??

Swimming would be good - DS loves playing in water - I think the soft play area might have been closed down on health and safety grounds at Tottenham Green - unless they've reopened it, I haven't been there since I went back to work.

There's space to play in the kids library at Marcus Garvey there as well.

The Bernie Grant Arts Centre next door has quite a posh but child friendly cafe too.

There's a toy library play and music thing at St Ann's Library just off St Ann's Road on Saturday mornings - 10 to 12.30 but probably best bit is 11-12 (DS loves music). I'm probably going somewhere else this Saturday and as you say your mum's down but if it's not too far (less than 10 minutes from Seven Sisters BR, nearer to the 259/279 bus stops) then that's fun for little ones and there's a park with a cheap n cheerful cafe not far away.

Let's meet at Tottenham Green then if all those other facilities are near by. All your suggestions sound good...My DS also lves water but I'm not sure how he'll take to swimming (I've only taken him once b4) and I'm up for posh cafe's, a bit of decadence is always necessary for working mums, I think.

Should we do next sat then? My email addy is [email protected] if you want to mail me your number so we can arrange meeting? In the meantime have a lovely weekend!X

Yes, that sounds like a plan, must find DS a new swim nappy beforehand though as his current ones only go up to 12 kilos.

Will email you tomorrow, as I'm getting tired now.
