Good things to do in the area with two French friends

Hi all,

Before I start, I just want to say that I dont want any 'unhelpful' comments from you Twinkie . They aren't all like your SIL!!

Anyway, I have 2 very lovely French friends coming to visit for a week. One has 2 children that she is leaving behind, so I would like to do some things that are good for adults, but that my 2 DCs can tag along to too. They like their culture and one has also put in a request to do some walking. I want to do things, but not so much that it feels like a Busman's holiday, running from one place to the next without a chance to actually catch up together.

Any suggestions?

well dont take them to that viking burial place, what's it called, Sutton Hooooooo.

Unless you enjoy walking around grassy humps.
All the good stuff from there is in a museum in london - the cheek.

no help from me, sorry!

Alittle bitterness there I feel. Did you go and have a bad day? Thats where all the local schools seem to go with their classes! DH has given in to my badgering about HE and we are going for it...how exciting. I will give you your book back on Thursday.

oh my god, thats so exciting!!!!!! have you read 'free range kids' its the most inspirational book on HE ive read - im hoping to get my book back from my friend on friday at LLL - so i caould lend it to you to beat DH with a bit more!!

Sutton Hooooo was ok i suppose, it rained on us, and welll, theres only so much enjoyment i can get from looking at grassy hillocks. Now if you were given metal detectors and a little spade.......that would be wonderful!
