Has Weybridge changed recently, or is this just a normal correction?

We have recently made the decision to move to Weybridge and have purchased a house. However, having now moved, we are worried about the news articles about falling prices, the empty units. Is the area deteriorating or has there simply been a price correction with cyclical movements on the high street?

I'm just having a go at checking what's on my local forum, and this post popped up.

I have lived in Surrey for the past 17 years, and I think Weybridge has consistently stayed the same.

Nice choice. I used to go to Heathside. It was an incredible school and it’s a beautiful area. If I could move there now with my children I would but cannot afford it. Now when I visit my parents I think wow, what a stunning place to grow up in. We were so privileged to have that as children. But you don’t quite realise just how nice it is until you leave 😂
