Dressmakers

I wonder if anyone can recommend a good dressmaker? Our local dry cleaner does basic alterations but I'm looking for somebody to do some rather more complex work.

Thanks in anticipation!

I haven't used them but there is that place called "Sew" on Park Road in Crouch End.

Thanks for that. I've never even noticed it, though admittedly my visits to Crouch End are rather sporadic. Anyone used them?

I used them to take up my curtains and to put black out lining on it. They did ok job but have to say wasnt impressed with the service, staff not that helpful.

I got my wedding dress made by a great guy called Andy Piccos. He's on 07956615775. He's fantastic and very reasonable. Based in Highbury.

Thanks for that m27. I just found his website and he does do alterations too.

And Finland, thanks for your post too. Sounds like Sew might be ok for basic jobs but maybe not for my posh frock!

Sew is great - they will do name labels for kids school uniform and alter children's clothes at a reasonable price.
