I need to pop into the city centre (near Town Hall) to pick up a birthday present. I don't normally shop in Leicester and will be coming from the Hinckley Road direction. Every time I try to come into the city I get hopelessly lost.

where is best/cheapest/easiset to park for under an hour? I will have a buggy but not a walking child IYSWIM!

If I were you I'd park near to De Montfort Uni (check out their website) near to their law department and then cross the main road where there are lots of renovations going on at the moment. I think you can park there in the week for an hour for free, if not it's not very much. Then you're a 5 - 10 minute walk to town hall square. You're also the right side of town for Hinkley Road and don't need to get caught up in the one way system. Hope this helps!

Plus if you are planning on spending a bit in John Lewis they will validate your parking in the Highcross if you spend over £50!!!
