Does anyone fancy meeting up on Thursday this week?

Not sure what the weather is going to be like but maybe Highwoods if it's nice (I know I always suggest it but I don't know any other park other than Castle Park!) or Adventureland/Go Bananas if not?

I don't mind what time we meet, mornings better for us as my girls tend to get gradually grouchier through the day but I'm sure I can persuade the LO to sleep sometime somewhere if I need to. Fingers crossed anyway!

Ideas?

Would love to join you SP,but I have a friend coming over for lunch. If its in the afternoon,I might be able to join you later though. If not, then another day..... Nice idea though.

pooter · 19/05/2008 21:10

yep - we can do thursday mornings, although i have to put ds down for his nap at about 11/11.30. Highwoods sounds good to me, but am not fussed. It will be good to meet you SP - i may get you to do a running demonstration for me!!!

Nursejo · 19/05/2008 21:29

Going to rearrange my Lunch date to another date,so I'm on for thursday afterall. What time and where to meet SP?If anyone that doesn't drive wants to brave the bus to the town centre,I'd be glad to pick them up.I could even russle up a 9mths+ seat if req'd(ie.Pinch our DD2 one out of DH's car!)or you can use my DD1's seat who is 3.Let me know......EB etc.?

SparklyPrincess · 19/05/2008 22:55

What sort of time would you want to meet then, Pooter? Don't know how you lot put up with these kids that insist on sleeping at home! I'd be driven potty by now! My two just have to like it or lump it! Not that DD1 sleeps anymore - that all went to pot about a week after DD2 coalesced all her little naps into one decent length one!

Won't be demonstrating the running , I shall keep the red-faced-ness til a little nearer the time I think!

pooter · 19/05/2008 23:08

Well, im a bit restricted cos of ds's nap - so please feel free to change it completely, but im able to get out between 9.30 and 11.30. Any later than that and he throws a wobbler.

Remind me to ask you where you taught SP - plus i LOOOOVVVEEE terry pratchett - so im looking forward to nerding it up with you!

SparklyPrincess · 20/05/2008 11:49

We could say about 10.00-ish then? Weather looks okay at the moment, so Highwoods?

I'm rereading pTerry at the moment, actually. Light Fantastic at the mo, so plenty to go! I didn't teach locally, so won't have any exciting gossip or anything!

If it rains on Thursday you're welcome to come over here, we're not too far from Highwoods. (Hope that's not too far for you Jo! ) It'll make me tidy up, anyway!

Nursejo · 20/05/2008 12:00

Sounds good to me SP! I will be there just after 10.00am as got to drop DD1 off at Nursery first.

Cant imagine you need to "Tidy up" SP your house looked immaculate, very minimalistic and tidy.

Now over here.....Just cant do Minimal Managed with only DS,and then later struggled with keeping it that way with DD1,but now with DD2,looks like a bombsite after I've tidied up!!

Guess I could tackle that long walk to yours if it rainsThankyou.
Reckon its my turn really, just cant face the "mass House Clearance" I need to do,this week! next week maybe.......

SparklyPrincess · 20/05/2008 12:30

'immaculate, very minimalistic and tidy'

Are you sure you're thinking of the right house??? Maybe that was the morning I'd picked up all the &*%%£ and shoved it upstairs!

OK, shall we say we'll meet on the grass to the west of the lake (weather permitting!), so if you're coming from the main car park, follow the easy access path towards the lake and you should spot us.

If anyone's not sure where they're going let me know and I'll try to help... and take no responsibility for anyone getting lost in the woods!

In case of awful weather, email me on SP4369 @ googlemail.com if you don't know where I live

SP xx

Is that the entrance Opp. Hospital that says Highwoods Visitors Centre? SP?

SparklyPrincess · 20/05/2008 12:46

Yep, that's the one - on Turner Road

OP posts:
Nursejo · 20/05/2008 12:49

Ta! See you then.

podglet · 20/05/2008 15:58

I'd love to come and can get a bus to the hospital but don't know where the park entrance is or how to get to the lake! Sparkly, will email you if that's ok?

SparklyPrincess · 20/05/2008 19:21

Hi Podglet,

The main park entrance is on Turner Road, the same as the hospital. Not sure where the bus stops are coming out of town but if you get off at the hospital then walk back down Turner Road (towards town) then there's a left turn into the car park. There's an information centre which has maps and some kindly people who will point you in the right direction, but you just need to take the 'Easy Access' path which takes you to the lake (not exactly Windermere sized though!), it's all clearly signed in that area so you shouldn't have too much trouble. I can give you my mobile number in case you get stuck!

Haven't had an email from you yet, will check again later...

coolio - i will meet you at teh park, but how will i know its you? What coat do you wear SP?? Any distinguishing features?

Nursejo · 20/05/2008 22:11

Hi Pooter, I will be with DD2 in umbrella buggy.I have long straight brown hair.I will probably wear a two tone mauve coat. What about you?

SparklyPrincess · 21/05/2008 09:24

I'll hopefully be with DD1 & 2 in a red phil & teds, will try to get there just before 10. I have shoulder length brown hair, don't have a summer coat so I'll be wearing whatever jumper I can find!

If I can't get the buggy sorted I shall be the harassed looking woman carrying a 13 month old lump in a rucksack and complaining about my back, dragging a stroppy 12, I mean 2 year old around...

I'd love to join you all tomorrow - am still without internet access and managed to hold onto dd for 30 secs yesterday at the library only for the connection to timeout - aargh! I hate living in the real world!

SP - Will text you if I'm not going to be able to make it!

Twinkie1 · 21/05/2008 12:02

Ils over Thursday and Friday - Whooopeee - be thinking of me whilst you are all free to do what you want for the day whilst I am stuck making polite conversation!

sophierosie · 21/05/2008 12:25

hiya twinkie - haven't seen you for ages - are you all ok now?

SparklyPrincess · 21/05/2008 12:50

Cool, see you tomorrow Sophie. Will keep my phone somewhere useful rather than the random places I normally leave it...

Sorry you can't make it Twinkie, hopefully catch up with you soon ...

Am I being overly optimistic giving DD2 (13 months) a petit filous and a spoon. She now won't let me help her and is making an almighty mess. I'm trying to ignore it...

OP posts:
podglet · 21/05/2008 13:28

Good luck with that SP, the first time I did that at the same age with DS, he coated everything but his mouth with it...

Have just emailed you. PC playing up last night so DP decided to de-frag?! Took forever...

I think I know which building you mean, wish me luck, my navigation skills suck!

Saz126 · 21/05/2008 15:22

Hi all, I can't make it tomorrow unfortunately, my friend's wedding is on Friday and having last minute panic - dragging DS to Chelmsford for fake tan, new camera etc etc. At least I am bridesmaid so I don't have to worry about dress. Do you think that 35 is too old to be a bridesmaid?! Have fun tomorrow. Hope to catch up soon.

purpleflower · 21/05/2008 15:56

I will try and get there but it depends what time DS decides to get up Hopefully it will be before 10 and I can get there. He still can't walk so hopefully he will be ok in his pushchair.

Twinkie1 · 21/05/2008 16:49

Hi Soph - were you in M&S yesterday in Colchester - thought I saw someone who was you but wasn't sure!!

Am fine now ta - got next Mon & Tues off so a whole week at home - hoorah - in laws round though so tedium of the highest order!!

lucyfer2000 · 21/05/2008 20:58

Hello Sparkly Princess and everyone else!

I am working tomorrow for a change because my chillminder has her son's school graduation or something to go to on Friday (so we swapped days). Can't believe they have proms etc in schools these days, apparently he is getting a limo to school with his friends and they are closing the road! Sounds completely bonkers to me, it's only a normal school??. I seem to remember a rubbish disco the day I finished school - not sure I even went!

Aaanyway, won't be able to walk in the woods tomorrow which is a real shame as the weather looks really beautiful. I hope it doesn't rain on Friday!

Hey SP I was thinking of the bug thing on Friday - was it in Fingeringhoe?? (hope i've spelt that right - it looks really rude, to state the obvious...)and can you remember what time it starts?

Have fun tomorrow!
