Moving to Sittingbourne in 2024-2025

Hi all,

We are a family with a young 5 years old child and we are planning on moving to Sittingbourne. I have seen some posts for similar situations but they are all at least 3-5 years old.
I was wondering how is Sittingbourne today.
After talking with some people in the area they have told us that Maidstone started going downslope in quality of life and happiness for families while Sittingbourne started going up.
However this does not align with what we are reading about the area.
Can someone who has either moved recently to the area or is living there for the last 1-2 years provide some advice? It would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Sittingbourne is no different than any other town, nice bits and not to nice bits. The area south of the A2 are considered the nicer side.

Is that something that has been going on for some time now? What do people think about it that live in the area?

Thank you. What are the not nice bits?

Murston, Milton Regis aren't great. Have a look on the map, the A2 runs right through the middle. The areas on the south of the A2 is the "better" side.

It's fine as towns go. The cinema complex is good. Train on a main line. Yes there's some kids that hang about the high street after dark, but no one goes down the high street at night anyway unless you're going to some of the pubs. And you get that in any town anyway! Lots of good schools. Good location as easy to get into London, the coast and the countryside.
