I am after some advice from locals. My husband and I are looking to move west out of London. We have family in the Cotswolds but need to be in London for work at least 3 days a week so have settled on Buckinghamshire as a good option marrying countryside and commuting. We have 2 kids (currently 5 and 2) and want them to grow up in a nice community with enough going on but also peaceful and with access to nature. We want high quality schools, grammars would be a bonus but are not factoring that in as we don’t know our children’s inclinations just yet. We are looking to leave London due to fears over growing crime (knife in particular in our current area) but have lived here many many years so are quite used to the conveniences a city offers. We’ve been to Great Missenden and liked it a lot but due to the v high prices there have been looking at the villages around such as Little Kingshill and Prestwood. I’d love to know if anyone has any local knowledge on living there, particularly with school age kids and particularly if you’ve come from London. How is the community? Are people welcoming? Is there enough to entertain kids? And what about teens - I’m aware that rural teens often complain of isolation and boredom? Thanks so much to anyone happy to share thoughts!
