which is the better investment and which is the nicest place to live? what sort of community can one expect from each - we are a self employed entrepreneurial couple, kids grown up, love the sun and proximity to the park …
Does it rain most of the year in Bath btw?
property prices of flats seem to be very soft and in the past 6 months have dropped substantially… any ideas to share please. 🙏

Hi there - we're in similar position looking to relocate. Same two choices having been looking for 2 years and covered every inch of Bath!

Did you get anywhere with this?

Love to swap notes!

Cathy

Hi Cathy
We looked for about 6 months and then lost interest - there is absolutely no stock available in Bath in our price range and we were told by locals in Bradford that so many pubs had closed, there are no bank branches and that one cannot get a doctors appointment - gorgeous houses there though!
We looked all over after that, including Isle of Wight, Brighton Hove and have decided to just buy back into the Edinburgh market. One gets much better value for money here, even though its not cheap and also the Scottish system of buying is far easier and a lot more straight forward.
I think Bath is so sought after that prices are just through the roof.
Also management fees on leasehold flats are a real pain in Bath - very high.
Good luck with your search
Julia
