Childcare Stress SE15

Hello..
I have a dilema.. I'm back to work in September, i have my daughter down for numerous nurseries, but the one i want her to go to "might" have a place in January. What can i do in the meantime? I'm not sure whether to put her elsewhere for a few months or search for a short-term Nanny Share/Childminder... Why is it so stressful..?

Any ideas/help/contacts would be appreciated.

Hi Peckmum,
Hopefully by then I will be fully qualified childminder. I also live in peckham and will be looking for work.

Don't fret too much. My top nursery choice wouldn't commit to a place when I wanted it so I got a CM. Now they've offered me a full time place twice! Sept is so far away really that you will be fine.

Or get a CM on a short term basis, both of both worlds.

hi im a registered childminder in the peckham area

Thanks for coming back to me, haven't been on for a while, too manic!

I now have a friend doing the CM duties until January then she goes back to work herself. She also may need a short term childminder from January to July... Also lives in Peckham Rye.

Will talk to her this week..

Hi I'm back again, now am definitely worried about childcare for January. All the nurseries won't have places in Jan, I can't believe it, they're happy to take your deposit. I now have no more options of nurseries locally, i had her down for my fav 3, the rest i think are pokey and generally awful and for near on £1000 a month, i just can't bring myself to accept 2nd best.

Am thinking a Nanny share could work? otherwise are the childminders on the thread still out there???

Thanks x

Hi Peckmum,
I'm also looking for a childminder for January. My son will be nine months and I'm going back fulltime. Maybe we could nannyshare?
