1st MMR at 14 months, 2nd in 3-5 months from then

My little pea has just had her Menitomix jab and has been booked in for her first MMR in a month's time. That's not worrying me too much. But I've also been told that she will have her 2nd MMR about 3-5 months after the 1st one, as our PCT have decreed it essential, due to the higher incidence of Measles in our area. In the red book, it was recommended at 3-5 years later for the 2nd MMR, not 3-5 months. Anyone else had this experience and if so; any unpleasant side effects? I've read what to expect after the 1st, so am not too worried. But am v. concerned about her having another one, so soon after this one.
Thanks in advance.

I was offered the 2nd MMR at 3-5 months but left it until my child was almost 3 years

with the first jab about 80% of children are covered irrc

Thanks very much. That's good to know. I was thinking that it was bit much for her to deal with. She has an egg allergy as well, but I understand that's no longer an issue with the latest vaccine.
