Gina Ford Mum's - Getting out and about?

Hi there

I was wondering if there are any other Mum's doing the Gina Ford routine? My son is 9 weeks old and we've been doing the routine for about 3 weeks. We don't follow it to the letter but I am trying to stick to feed times & sleep times as it seems to work for him.

I'm just finding it quite limiting to get out and about as I'm trying to fit everything around these times. Has anyone else felt like this?

If there are any of you doing this routine who would like to meet up, as our timings would be the same, that would be ideal. I'm in Battersea, about 10 minutes from Clapham Junction.

Anyway, I'm new to the site so thanks for reading. Emma

Hi,

My son is 5.5 months and we have been following Gina Ford for the last 3 months or so. I did find that in the beginning it was difficult to get out and about as I wanted to make sure that he had his naps at the right time. Staying home too much though is no good for me, so now I make sure I make my appointments, coffee mornings etc around his schedule, ie: we have Gymboree at 10.30am, I know that he will have his morning nap on the way there and will feed before we go in. The routine has been a bit annoying for my husband who wants to go out on the weekends but I just make sure we go out for walks etc during the mid-afternoon nap time and if all goes pear shaped I just try to make sure he has no more than his 3hrs sleep for the day, sometimes it works and sometimes it just doesn't. I am in streatham and would be happy to meet - somewhere half way maybe? With the summer approaching it is important not to be housebound! At the moment he seems to nap better in his buggy than in his cot so all the better for me.
