Hi
Can anyone reccomend a nice friendly playgroup in the area?

I went to one recently and everyone seemed to be in little groups and not interested in chatting to a new face - it was a bit of a lonley experience

Any reccomendations would be great

Thanks
Helen

Hi Helen, Sorry to hear that your experience of playgroups was lonely. How old is your LO?

You could try the Acton park playcentre (in the park, East Acton Lane side). It's not a playgroup but a free drop in play centre with lots of toys, drawing etc. It's open 10.30-2.30 weekdays and I think 10-4 on weekends? It's pretty busy in the mornings and everyone there is very friendly.

There is a new playgroup at St Dunstans church (Friars Place Lane) on Fridays at 09.45, I haven't been yet but my friends tell me they like it so I'll go next week!

There is also a playgroup on Wed 10-12 at St Mary's church opposite Morrisons, it's run by the "Ealing 135 group" but non-members can go, I have made quite a few friends there. but sadly am going back to work v soon so won't be able to go any more.

Hope you find this useful!

hey Helen, don't be disheartened! it is always difficult to 'break' into playgroups. They may seem unfriendly but most people are not, they are just a little shy and stick to who they know. I go to the 135 playgroup and used to be the rep so come along and make yourself a cup of tea! I also go to a playgroup on Tuesday am at acton hill church. The 135 group also run a singing group for younger children on mondays at the St Mary's, you need to book onto this course as well as be a member, check out ealing135 website. The same people attend each week so it is an easier place to make friends and feels less intimidating.

good luck
