Primary Schools in Abingdon

Does anybody know anything about primary schools in Abingdon, Oxfordshire? Our two nearest are Carswell and St Nicolas. Carswell is closer and I like that it's one form entry, but it's a bit shabby looking and there's no grass to play on (and not much play equipment etc). St Nicolas has nicer outdoor space but is a bit further away and is two form entry. Both walkable though. Or we were considering Sunningwell which would be a cycle/drive away, but is a gorgeous location and seems a lovely small school.
Does anyone have any inside info or opinions about any of these options? Would be starting in reception. Thank you!

Just beware of overly small schools, it's great when you initially start and think "oh, lovely for my child" but the reality is often that there's less friends to choose from and less opportunities in a school as a result (sports, extra-curricular etc). One friend who had kids at at a really small school meant that her child only had 3 others in her year to choose from and she didn't get on with any of them.
Also, small schools often have to mix classes which can either benefit or be a detriment to your child depending on whether they fit in the age mix.
In retrospect, I'd always choose a 2 form entry primary now if I had a choice to offer the choice of friends and wider opportunities (possibly not an immediate concern in reception but will be higher up the school).

St Nics is a good school, I'd also look at Rush Common. Carswell has had quite a few kids move to different local schools over the past few years.
