Am I being ridiculous….

Ok so long story short, decided a while back to relocate, love Newcastle but it’s a good 5 hour drive from where we are now and family. Have friends in Manchester so decided in on Chester. (For ref we love Bath but can’t afford it, wanted somewhere similar in size/architecture/safety etc but also close to the coast and great countryside).

Sold our house, about to tell boss and get offered a fairly big pay rise out of the blue, DH and I thought it might be silly so throw away a job and boss I like for very good money. Ended up not moving….

So here we are, 6 months later… and the relocation devil is back on my shoulder…. I think as Chester didn’t tick all the boxes it was easier to wimp out, but apart from the distance from where we currently are, Newcastle doesn’t really have any and I wonder if we had stuck to the original plan, would we be there now and happy?

To round up my ramblings, am I crazy to throw away a good job, family connections in a safe but boring location to move elsewhere? (Husbands job is not an issue, son is in primary school)

Any advice/thoughts welcome!

I’d say yes, a I’d look at using the extra money to get away more, to the places you like.
having family around is a godsend when unexpected things happen.

Yeah although we have some in this area, we don’t get a great deal of help, I guess that adds to it all
