What’s Witney like?!

We’re looking to move to the Witney area from Bucks to be closer to family. We have 2 kids (13 & 10) & are considering Cokethorpe school. Is Witney a good place for kids/teens? Is there stuff going on & a sense of community? Or any other large villages/towns to consider? A good pub, village shop & station or good London commute options are the minimum requirements!

My sister lives there, so we visit often. It’s a lovely market town and there’s lots going on. We’ve been to the annual Food Festival, Beer Festival & Music Festival with her which have all been great & there’s a fair every year too. The nearest station for London is in Long Hanborough and there’s a regular bus service into Oxford. No idea about teenagers as her kids are still little but they go to Cubs and football clubs. Shopping is good and there are lots of coffee shops/ places to eat with free parking. It feels like it’s thriving.
