Entertaining pre-schooler in Hull

Help! Local knowledge required.

I will shortly have to entertain a 4 year old for the afternoon in Hull while his DPs attend a hospital appointment. It looks at first sight as if there is lots to do, but then it seems as if most things are closed, Maritime Museum. Arctic Corsair, Spurn Lightship etc. We've done the Museum of Streetlife and I don't really want to go to the Deep again,. We'll be on the bus, so Hessle Foreshore and Country Park is a bit of a schlep.

All suggestions welcomed.

Thanks in advance.

Ferens Art Gallery is good- free to enter and has a children's bit upstairs. The cafe is also lovely! If the weather is nice, head to the Marina via the new road bridge (great for waving at cars/ counting cars on!). The East Riding museum next to the Street Life museum is also worth a visit.

If it is a nice day then there is always the fish trail. Take paper and crayons to do rubbings and then get a nice treat to eat at the indoor market.

Is the dinosaur museum still there?

Oh yes, Dinostar on Humber Street. It's still there!

Brilliant! Thanks. I didn't know about Dinostar or the Gallery.I think we'll give them both a go and the museum as well f we have time.
