Thursday 'childless' night at Blue Strawberry

There has been talk of meeting up at The Blue Strawberry in Hatfield Peverel. Does anyone fancy coming?

Here are a few dates that we can do:

27th March Mung, SP
3rd April Mung
10th April Mung, SP
17th April Mung, SP

For me, it would be great to meet up and not have to chase children around or check that they aren't wrecking the place . So, add your name to the days you can do and I'll get on the case and book.

Great - thanks for booking the restaurant - am looking forward to it!

I'm happy to do train or drive.

There is a train that would get us in to HP at 8.20 and then back to colchester are either 10.30 or 11.30.

If you want me to drive I can pick up SP and you Mung then you wouldn't have to rush your bedtime feed if you want.

So Twinkie will pick Saz up.
By the time we have walked from the station it will be 8.30 and I will be starving! So, if you could drive that would be lovely Sophierosie. I think you have directions to my place, but if not then SP can tell you.
Any problems then let me know and I'll drive instead.

Great - I might have to have you as back up driver just in case DH has to do overtime as I won't have the car. But fingers crossed he'll be back in time!

DH has just had his shift changed and its looking extremely unlikey that he will be back by 7pm so am going to have to take back my offer of driving.

I'm still hoping I can join you all and just drive down when he gets back (prob about 8ish so should make it to HP by about 8.30 fingers crossed). Grr blardy job

I can now drive as his shift has been changed back to normal, but there is a chance he might not be back in time in which case you might have to drive Mung. Will call you as soon as I know he's left work!

Crapola - DH has now had his shift changed again and won't be back til midnight so I'm not going to be able to come at all now. Will try and get a babysitter but am not too hopeful.

Blimey...does you DH's work always do that? I would go mad...how do you manage to arrange to do anything?
If you manage to get a babysitter that will be great, but if not then I hope we get to see you soon.

Yep, unfortunately he works in a job where there is no possibility of him, or me for that matter, having a life outside work - I can't count the number of times I've not been able to do things as his shift has either been changed or he's ended up doing 5 hours overtime - happy days He was called in to work on one of his days off last week so had to scramble around looking for childcare then - he normally looks after dd if he's off on one of my working days.
