Banham zoo in the rain - worth it???

For DS's birthday we were planning to go to Colchester zoo but the weather is not looking good for the 2 hour drive, Banham zoo is much nearer to us.

Will we still be able to see a reasonable amount of animals indoors? I know DS will still love it, even if they are inside, and i know at Colchester you would still be able to see a fair amount but never having been to Banham i don't know...

I assume you must be able to see most things or how would they make any money, being in the UK?!

I took my dd to Banham when it was cold and windy, and found it hard going. Most of the animals are outside, and when it did start to rain there was little shelter. They have a few bits inside but to really enjoy it there I think you need a dry day.

Definately best left till summer. Theres a nice little train and I really wouldn't fancy that in the rain. Apart from reptile house most of it is outside. Besides, it wouldn't be the same eating your picnic in the cafeteria... you need to be outside in sunshine being chased by wasps!! Not sure of your DS age but Bewilderwood opens again at easter and I found that brilliant even in rain because of the tree canvas. Just an idea x
