LWH Private Rooms

Hi All
My second child is due by c section in a couple of months and I am dreading sharing a ward like last time, it was hell on legs. Does anyone know if the Women's has private rooms, I'm quite happy to pay (I keep forgetting to ask the midwife). Or know of any useful stunts to pull to get my own room. I'm fairly desperate.

Hi, I had a private room too and never asked for it. It may be worth noting in your birth plan as well just in case.

Hi

Both my sister and I have been in LWH twice. She had 2 c-sections and was on a ward both times. I had 2 normal births and had my own room. The policy of the LWH (unless it has changed in 2 years) is that if you have a c-section or any other surgery you will be put on a shared ward. Normal delivery and you will be in a single room. They explained this when I went for the hospital tour and said that this way, if there were any problems, it was easier for staff (and indeed other patients) to keep an eye on you and your baby.

Not sure whether you can request a private room in this case.

Private rooms tend to be for low risk patients. Due to you having a c section you will be classed as high risk just like someone with depression etc.
I would ask your mw though
