hello thanks paddle, have told MNHQ

sorry about the early wake up, have not been sleeping well either, have increased activity, been jogging more regularly but still the dreams persist and it takes ages to get to sleep - bugger
I guess if I keep it up it will normalise

Paddlechick666 · 22/02/2008 10:37

i have no problem getting off to sleep, i just can't stay asleep or go back to sleep once I wake up!

hoping to have another go at a lie in tomorrow - till 8am at least LOL.

just finished reading a great book called The End of Mr Y, very very odd and enjoyable. I think you'd like it sfx.

I thought it was me being pea-brained! Glad to know that others are experiencing the same problem. Wot no West London thread How will we cope? PC how are you? Nighttimes here are s**t at the moment, dd is regressing, waking loads, throwing tantrums and then up from 5am! I think she is sensing the imminent arrival ... Oh well, I'm looking fabulous as usual

slng · 22/02/2008 11:37

I'm sulking at the moment. Had enough of having to say everything 5 million times before anyone pays any attention. In fact I'm going on strike and will not do anything unless asked 5 million times.

rosmerta · 22/02/2008 11:40

Phew, found some of you, panic over

sfxmum · 22/02/2008 12:08

slng deep breaths

dd has comphreesibly taken over my laptop and I have been banished now using PC

don't think I want to pop out today too lazy, might bake cookies

paddle it is difficult to keep going while sleep is an issue, I have an idea why I am stressed at the moment but really not helping

sfxmum · 22/02/2008 12:09

must go back to spelling school

slng · 22/02/2008 12:10

We are baking sesame ginger cookies this afternoon. At least I am. Will be difficult involving kids if I don't talk to them, i guess, so might have to rethink strike. Harrumph.

sfxmum · 22/02/2008 12:14

the request here is for chocolate chip, might do banana loaf too

slng · 22/02/2008 12:17

All this food-talk is making me hungry. I've just cooked some rice - how is it that I can cook better rice on the hob than the rice cooker? What sort of rubbish rice cooker is that? How cross I am with everything!!

SJ99 · 22/02/2008 12:42

Hi all

Now DS gone for nap was looking fwd to a nice cuppa and catch up but no thread to read

He was up at 6am today, v.unlike him and is now shattered. Wales was good and had some lovely walks, ducks also skating on thin ice, was v.cold despite sunshine.

We survived Tesco's this morning, don't think I'll venture out again today, that was enough of an outing - DS was v. good in shop but kindly saved his tantrum for when we got home (too tired & then too hungry)

Slng - I too have a rice cooker but much prefer to make on the hob, I'm too lazy to get cooker out each time

PC & Sfx & Bunyan - hope all 3 of you sleep better tonight, sending you sleepy vibes

sfxmum · 22/02/2008 12:54

bunnyan they do say that age diff 2-4 leads to trouble, but imo whatever age takes some adjusting poor kid. hope she settles soon, hope you are not too uncomfortable

slng I always use the hob it is quick, but then again I don't even own a microwave.

SJ I have never attempted a big shop with dd, and these days using public transport is hazardous with stroppy toddler. am contemplating ditching the pushchair for small outings by bus.

SJ99 · 22/02/2008 13:06

Normally DH or I do the big shop at wkend minus DS so not a problem. I had to take him today though as we came back last night and no food in the house as DH been away all week too. DS does enjoy shopping as long as I razz round the alises doing supermaket sweep, it was just today with early wake up he was wiped out by the time we got home at 11am.

I know what you mean about public transport, you have to time it so well to avoid any meltdowns. I usually have to keep snacks and toys in bag to keep him amused during journey. Good luck going stroller-free, let us know how you get on

sfxmum · 22/02/2008 13:10

SJ you mock me dd refuses to sit in the blardy thing, some days it is ok and I manage to persuade her calmly, other times we have loud shouting stiff limbs etc.

we have been to Kingston on 65 bus, folded stroller which she loved but not at busy times

SJ99 · 22/02/2008 13:16

No mocking honest, was genuinely wishing you well on your adventures

I like the buses which tell you which stop is coming up next as DS loves that, seems to keep him entertained especially with his love of numbers, he just keeps repeating the bus number til we get off

sfxmum · 22/02/2008 13:23

oh I know dd does the same, Ealing Broadway to her seems to be some sort of exotic mythical land which she is never able to reach due to mean mummy always stopping at Kew

she woke up well before 7 today very unusual so I am making sure there is plenty of quiet time

SJ99 · 22/02/2008 13:27

LOL at mythical land of Ealing Broadway!

These days DS often asks for his coat and then asks to go on either the 281 or 267 bus to visit either

a) mini-pads
b) mini-Ros
c) daddy in office
d) grandparents in Wales

rosmerta · 22/02/2008 13:33

lol!

Ds went through a phase of not wanting to go into his pushchair at all so we started walking a bit more & catching the bus. Now he's suddenly reverted & wants to go into his pushchair. I'm guessing its completely normal toddler behaviour!!

Seems ds has finally fallen asleep, think we'll also stay in this afternoon!

rosmerta · 22/02/2008 14:30

I see I'm killing conversations again

Kewcumber · 22/02/2008 14:31

Ros are you coming to city foram tomorrow?

rosmerta · 22/02/2008 14:36

I can't I'm afraid Kew, am doing my course observation which is all day.

Btw, we're back

sfxmum · 22/02/2008 14:55

not ignoring you Ros just been baking and policing dd as she takes every opportunity to lick the spoon. and I am turning into my mum, 'no raw dough, it will give you a tummy ache and the same goes for eating hot cookies'

I think we have made too many

rosmerta · 22/02/2008 15:00

I'll have some then!!
