Day nurseries / childcare for under 2's in town

I need to sort out a day or two's childcare for my 15 month old (due to job changing offices and possibly more hours). Any recommendations? It needs to be in central basingstoke or on the way to the M3 (hatch warren, Beggarwood would be on my way to work). I am going to try BCOT as they look really good (and are on my doorstep), but not sure where else. What do other people use? What do I need to look out for. Thank you in advance. x

meant to add, that somewhere that accepts half days is needed as I will still have family to help out some of the time. x

hi meglet, my son was in part time childcare from 6 months and full time childcare from 3 1/2 yrs. i would say that over the range he had, his childminders were the best care for him - more security, personal attention, better communication. when i used a nursery the top things to worry me and to ask were about communication - how they would tell me things he had done or been, or how quickly would they ring me with an issue, if that makes sense. of all the nurseries he went to, he enjoyed the activities as big groups and get a lot out of them but for feeling calm and secure it was childminder every time!

good luck

well, we've booked him into BCOT as it seems fab. So fingers crossed everything will be ok. He's doing one morning a week so hopefully he will be ok and have some fun. They already have the 'national cirriculum' for babies! Its hilarious, TBH it doesn't seem any different from doing different topics each week.
