Hi. I'm a heavily pregnant mum with a 17 yr old (who is going to uni this year) and a 2.5 yr old already. We've lived in a 1 bedroom council property for a long time and I've basically slept in my living room for 15 years so that my eldest could have her own bedroom. It has been a nightmare, especially as I have Fibromyalgia and we're top floor with no lift. We have just been offered a 2 bedroom flat in a block near Hove station (the Drive Hove) but the stinger is that the flats have apparently just been fitted with a new electric storage heating system. I'm already struggling with my electricity and gas bills in this flat, on a low wage and obviously all electric is more expensive and I'm going to be on statutory maternity pay soon. We are going to view the flat next week but there won't be much more information available then there is now on how expensive it'll be to run. I believe the flats are really nice from what I've been told, with lift access, in a really good location, where I'm going to struggle far less with getting 2 small children around, so it's a massive blessing that I don't want to have to turn down. I think that when I go to see it I'll feel on the spot and probably want to take it whatever happens. I don't want to go into debt with energy bills or not be able to keep my kids warm. I'm so stressed about this. Does anyone have experience with a new electric storage heating system, or live in a block on the Drive (not sure I should say the exact location)? Thank you.
