Bucks Private schools

Hello,
I have girls, and after researching...Thornton Collage seems the best fit...(although we aren't Catholic) Akeley wood doesn't seem to get a good rep and don't fancy Stowe...
Has anyone have children there? Is Private worth the cost over state secondary? It's been a good 25 years since I stepped foot in a secondary school so it's hard comparing since we are bit early for the standard visits pre year 7 entry..

Would love anyones input or if any children went to Thornton?
TIA 😊

OP, maybe repost this on the Education or Secondary Education boards and you will get more answers? My DC at thriving at Stowe so can't advise you re other Bucks options.

Depends what you are looking for. Day or boarding? If bright and in bucks you may want to consider grammar schools which are excellent academically but don’t obviously have the funding to do all the extra curricular fluff around the edges that private schools do (I have children in both of those sectors).

Smaller classes, better facilities are the advantages of private over state. It is a lot of money though.
