Speed camera help!

On the A14 heading south/east, after bar hill just where it turns into the M11 and you would normally come off and head towards Histon/Milton etc...

I saw a massive double flash

I thought it was 70 limit. I was doing about 55/60. The flash made me look up and I saw a variable '40' speed limit sign all lit up and the slip road shut.

Anyone know if this is a working, variable speed camera? I'm crossing fingers it was catching someone going westbound, but my heart knows it probably got me :(

There's a table. It doesn't make good reading.

I don't know the road personally although I've driven along it a dozen times in my life - I've always believed that they are quite hot on speeding around Cambridge and out towards the east coast. In the last year I read that up to 50% of speed cameras do not record the event - in effect - they may flash but they are not actually working.

Nothing you can do bar hope for the best.
