Meet up on Friday 8th Feb - Can we do Colchester instead of Braintree?

Hi there

I don't have the car for about a month so it would be a nightmare for me to get over to Braintree on the train so how would everyone feel about going to Go Banana's in the morning in Colchester instead?

I am quite happy with that, although I think Twinkie has swimming in the morning and wouldn't be able to make it.

Adventureland may be better as it is closer to the station and therefore easier for Saz.

The other option is to come to my place (not far from Marks Tey station / on 70/71 bus route from Colchester). We could meet at 12ish like last time and then hopefully everyone could make it.

sophierosie · 31/01/2008 14:18

I'm happy to do either - I'm at North Station so could meet Saz and walk from there - I know a short cut from the station which takes us straight to Go Bananas but happy to do either

Yes - I forgot Twinkie couldn't make it in the morning so a lunchtime meet up would be better!

Hiya! Friday 8th afternoon is good for us...let me know what time is easier for everyone. We have a coffee to go to that morning but if we go then will need to put Jamie down for sleep at 12pm although am happy to miss if easier for everyone to meet at 12pm. If I go to coffee can meet at 2pm ish, if I miss coffee can meet at 12pm ish - will go with what's easier for everyone else. xxx

Mung · 04/02/2008 08:42

A lot of waffle here-sorry:

I really dont mind going to Go Bananas/Adventurelnd although, it would be slightly easier if you came here then I could put DS and DD to bed for a while. I can do lunch, or we can meet a bit later - its up to you.

I understand that coming here would mean more people having to use public transport, so it will probably be eaier for everyone else to go to the soft play.

Someone needs to make a decision here ...

sophierosie · 04/02/2008 15:00

I'm happy to come to yours Mung - I can give DD her lunch here and then come to yours say at about 2ish?

OP posts:
Mung · 04/02/2008 15:22

Does that suit you Saz?
Twinkie, are you about?

Mung · 05/02/2008 08:15

Anyone else fancy coming too?

Saz126 · 05/02/2008 12:14

Hi, just found Twinkie on another thread saying that she can't do this Friday but can do next Friday. I can do both this and next Friday. xx

Mung · 05/02/2008 14:01

How about next Friday at my place then?

sophierosie · 05/02/2008 17:02

Mung · 06/02/2008 12:53

Twinkie1 · 06/02/2008 16:52

Hi Girls - am a dolt aren''t I.

Am ok for next Friday am sure of it - Mung will be at yours at 12ish then.

Anything I can bring?

See you next Friday - you can show all the lovely things you got for valentines and I will show you the sweet FA I will probably get - not that I am bitter or anything!

sophierosie · 06/02/2008 20:47

OMG - I completely forgot about valentines day - Its my first wedding anniversary this weekend and I'm struggling to think of what to get DH let alone Valentines day! I've been showing him diamond necklaces in the hope that he has a stash of money that I don't know about

Any ideas?

Hello - ta Mung for pointing me in this direction. Unfortunately i cant do this friday - we go to the la leche league meetings twice a month and i hate to miss them (its the only place i dont feel like a bit of a wierdo ) ooh, hang on - next friday doesnt mean the 8th does it......in that case i may be able to come (if im invited [hopeful smile emoticon])

It was the comparing valentines gifts that made me realise! I have been dropping hints - well, saying outright "What are you doing for VDay? Two bunches of flowers in 4 years is CRAP" to dh.

So do you all know each other already?? Im scared!

Mung · 07/02/2008 08:40

Hey pooter, its the Town Tots day and I was thinking of going to that in the morning and zooming home in time to meet the others here.

It would be great to meet you Pooter. We all met a couple of weeks ago and after my DS spilt milk and jam on Twinkie's carpet, I think we know each other a bit! Don't be worried, you might find we know each other from La Leche, as I have been a couple of times.

Send me your e-mail address pooter and I'll give you directions. Let me know how you will be arriving (bus, train, car, bike )

As for valentines Day...I am like you Sophierosie, and have my wedding anniversary on 12th. We always go to this restaurant back in Wanstead that we loved when we lived there. However, this year all our chief babysitters are on holiday - how dare they! So, its a normal dinner at home.

Can we say 12.30 ladies, so I can get back from town in time to meet you?

I'll sort out lunch then (I've remembered the dairy free and I'm veggie...Pooter, have you got any other special requirements)

Mung · 07/02/2008 08:42

Twinkie, will you have DD with you too?

pooter · 07/02/2008 11:18

Ah - town tots! Wow, my social life has improved dramatically since having ds - cant keep track of what im doing! I went last time and really enjoyed it - its so weird to think that i may know some of you in rl!

Mung, do you want me to bring anything? I could pick up some of those gorgeous chocolate brownies from the bread stall - anyone tried them? Delicious! Im veggie too but my only other dietary requirement is for ridiculously strong tea. Mmmmm tea.....

My email is pooter@sarchibald dot fsnet dot co dot uk for directions.

Im excited - its like going on an adventure. oh god im so saddddddd. Like when i lived in london and spent my day off sitting on the top deck of buses and sigtseeing on my own. I then heard a song by Belle and Sebastian that had teh line 'riding on city buses for a hobby is sad' which made me feel a tad silly.

Mung · 11/02/2008 16:04

I forgot to say that you dont need to bring anything.

I'll get the tea brewing now then....

Twinkie1 · 11/02/2008 17:08

Hi Loves

No DD is at her fathers for the week as it is half term.

And just to sod everything up now I don't have swimming as it is half term so could have come early but there you go!

Am bringing bleach and kreosote and stuff for DS to ruin your carpet .

Got DH a nice new Wallet (Mulberry - V Posh) as he has had his for 5 years and is knackered (from me keep opening it he reckons!) and a little heart shaped biscuit card thing that I have asked to be sent to him at work from a fab website called biscuiteer.com! - he will be embarrassed into going to the nearest jewellers (Tiffanys as he will be at work) or shoe shop (LK Bennett - stupid man) and buying me extravagant pressie!

I will bring a big hunk of meat and some cheese just to mess you all up!

Ha ha - Sorry am in a bit of a crazy mood due to lack of sleep - that reminds me was going to start a thread about it!

Saz126 · 12/02/2008 12:51

Hi all,
Am not sure I can make it now Friday as neice is staying over as she is at loose end, she is going home Friday but not sure what time. She likes to lie in so might not be up til late.

Twinkie, thanks for offer of lift but should be fine on train - and that way I could maybe walk with neice to the station so that she can get train home and then we can catch one to Mungs.

I have directions from Mung, was thinking is it best for you to email and we can send directions back or do you want me to post them Thurs?

I got DH wallet too but it's from M&S. And he's getting some heart choccies from M&S too. That's a good effort for me, he usually gets box of chocs from the one stop shop!

Hope to see you Friday. Pooter - hope to meet you Friday too!

pooter · 12/02/2008 23:44

Hiya,
Well, i went into town today to buy dh a pressie for V day and all i came back with was a pack of next underpants - not even novelty heart ones, just boring old PANTS!! Oh, and a stone shaped into a heart (why???) Aaagghh! I dont really want to get him anything he doesnt need as we have so much tat in the house its driving me mad. Hes v.overweight, so choccies are a bad move....any inspiration?? may look on the biscuiteer site twinkie, although ive left it a bit late now

Ta for the directions mung - i deleted them by mistake at first as i didnt recognise your name (obviously, as it wasnt 'mung') and thought you were a virus!!

see you all on friday - i will be at town tots trying to play detective...no hints!

Mung · 13/02/2008 08:17

I checked out the bisuiteer website and you are not too late! But, if DH needs to shed a few pounds then the bisuit isn't great either! I didn't go for that though...I tried making my own and DH got a whole box of hearts. I felt really inadequate because he had made me a lovely card for our anniversary and I just have not had any time over the last few days, so I had to do something quickly yesterday.

Depending on how organised I am and how clean the house it, I may or may not be at Town Tots. I feel I ought to go and support them, but it means being ready for lunch before going...we'll see.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing you all.

SparklyPrincess · 13/02/2008 15:01

Can I be really awful and invite myself ...

Have only been back in Colchester for a month and haven't made many (any!) new friends yet.

SP xx

Mung · 13/02/2008 15:08

Sure. Send me you e-mail address and I'll send you directions. The more the more chaotic merrier
