Living in Penistone

Hi, could you please tell me if Penistone is a good place to live with children? I recently applied for council house there. Me and my partner have got family there and we love farms so with us is a little bit different, but I'm just wondering if many people applied for this house or less because the area and far away from Barnsley town.

If you have family there and like living in a more rural location it sounds like it would be a good place for you.

I used to to be a youth worker in Barnsley and the downsides with Penistone we’re high levels of teenage drug use and a lack of facilities for young people. It was deemed to be one of the better areas of Barnsley though and the grammar school was highly regarded.
