Yate, Stoke Gifford, Yatton or Nailsea & Backwell

Hi,

My partner and I are looking to relocate to Bristol. We've spent some time researching different areas and have had a weekend in Bristol exploring also. Since our last trip, we've started to look a little further out of the city and just wanted to get peoples thoughts on Yate, Stoke Gifford, Yatton, Nailsea & Backwell? Or any other potential areas we should consider?
We are looking for a 3 or 4 bedroom property (ideally detached but would consider a semi), a good size house with a garden and driveway. Ideally not a new build as I prefer something with a little more character. We are in our early thirties so ideally want there to be some nice restaurants, pubs and a cinema close by, but also be able to get into Bristol by train (in around 10-20 minutes) if we want to access more places, shops etc. We don't have children yet but is on the cards for the future, so somewhere with good schools would also be something we'd need to consider. And obviously somewhere that is safe for children.
Thank you in advance, we're still learning all the areas of Bristol so any advice is greatly appreciated!
Natalie

Keynsham would also be worth looking at. 10 minutes by train to Temple Meads Station and to Bath Spa too. There's also a limited stop bus service which runs through Bath Saltford, Keynsham and through South Bristol to Bristol Airport (the only other way to get to the airport is by car or taxi).
The decider for me would be workplace location. You don't want to be in Yate if your employer is on the south side of the city. The traffic is dire and there's no underground or tram network.

Thank you, that's good to know and definitely sounds like somewhere to explore!!

Nailsea and Backwell would be my choice! Clevedon is nice (with cinema) but no trains to Bristol only the bus.
Nailsea and Backwell have great schools and easily accessible by train to Bristol. Nailsea will be cheaper by a small amount. There are lots of thirties style houses in Backwell.

Nailsea would be my recommendation overall. Happy to answer any questions!
