Moving to Marlow?

We are considering a move to Marlow after not finding much in other areas we looked at. We’ve a 3yo and a 1yo, never lived out of London before! Any advice or experience of the same? We look to try before we buy and rent for a year just in case. Any advice appreciated!

We moved from Surbiton to Marlow in Dec 2019 and have never looked back!

Love it here, our 2 year old goes to a great nursery and plenty of local activities.

Marlow is amazing. Has great schools as well. Lots of lovely restaurants, beautiful walks or cycling for miles and miles along the river, good transport links, lots of sport facilities, close to the motorways. I loved living there.

Can't speak for the schools but Marlow has a good selection of shops, restaurants and some wonderful walks along the Thames.

Yes Marlow is great. I'd live there again in a shot if I could afford it 😂

It is a lovely but expensive place to live. Primary schools mostly good but unfortunately they still have the 11+ system so secondary schools very varied.

It's a beautiful town, seems to have a great sense of community. I'm there daily (children at school there) but kind of glad we don't live there as it seems more like a place to visit as it gets very busy and touristy. Enjoy the cafes and varied places to eat but don't find the shops particularly useful - no Waitrose any more!

Cycle and walk there quite often too as there are some lovely surroundings but traffic can be busy at times. Would be a pain if you needed to commute to London regularly as you would need to get to either High Wycombe or Maidenhead for main train.

We live nearby in another Bucks market town. Absolutely love Marlow and usually there once every couple of weeks for the cafes, shops, restaurants etc...but high street etc...way too busy for us to live there.
Good schools, pretty poor commute into London.
