Hello, I am a mother of two boys; 13 and 12 yrs olds respectively and we moved to Manchester in January. I have been pulling my hair out regarding the right school to take them to as all the school of my choice are full. A school in Burnage was the only option at that point then so I opted for it just so they get settled whilst I look for other options but now, I am desperate to move them as I am not pleased with the school at all. have applied several times and we are on the wait list for Didsbury high school but now I am considering an independent school and need suggestions. I would prefer co-ed and both my boys are very sporty so a school that encourages sports and lots of extra curricular activities to keep them busy and encourage a well rounded child would be key alongside being quite strict and educational. I was looking to move to Didsbury but have put that on hold for now especially now that I am considering an independent school. Do you have any suggestions? I have looked online at Manchester boys, Stockport, Cheadle Hulme, and some others, mentioned on this platform but I am open to suggestions both for school and living area. Thank you in advance for your speedy responses.🙏

Hi,
Did you get anywhere with your school changes? We are considering moving to Manchester South from France in the coming weeks, but the school situation doesn't look very good. Did you manage to get your kids to Didsbury High? I've also contacted independent schools and they all seem to be full. Any information about your experience would be super useful as it all looks a bit uncertain and so we still don't know whether we'll make the move or not... I am worried that the kids end up in a bad school for the whole year... and I've also heard it takes ages to allocate a place, even in a bad school...thanks!
