Hi,

I am about to send my baby boy (9 months) to the nursery at David Lloyd Health club - am going back to work part time in a couple of weeks!! I feel happy about the nursery from the visits we have had so far and am leaving him for the first time today - eek! Would love to hear from anyone who sends their baby there for extra reassurance!

Hi JaneyP1 how did it go? I cant help but would be interested as to how you find the nursery as I'm about to do the same. My son is 16 months and is starting 2 1/2 days soon.
Hope its all going well for you.

Hi LornaM,

Are you sending your son to the same nursery? I am happy with the nursery and the staff seem really lovely. Oliver isn't too impressed with me leaving him so his settling in has been slow - managed to leave him for an hour today and he was apparently fine! Am leaving him for a bit longer tomorrow and he does his first full day on Thursday!! I think the staff cope well when the babies are upset and they can handle it, it seems to be the tearful Mum's that are the main problem!!

Let me know how you get on?

Yes same nursery, my son Ben starts next week. I thought it seemed really good and I looked at quite a few. Its hard to leave them at first, hardest for mums! We've just moved to the area and Bens been to nursery before so I hope he will settle well, but I dont like leaving him even tho' I know he'll be fine. I'm sure Oliver will get used to it and start to really enjoy it soon. How many days are you working? I hope it all goes well for you! Good luck. I will let you know how we get on next week!

Hi LornaM,

I'm working 3.5 days - Monday-Weds and Thursday mornings so at least it's not full time! Oliver seems to be ok and is doing his first full day today! I go back to work next Tuesday.

Perhaps we will meet doing the drop off/pick up? I'll look out for Ben! If you need any advice about the area let me know as we have lived here for the last 11 years and love it.

Enjoy a few days of freedom then before you are back to work! Hope Oliver enjoyed his first full day. I've got Ben in Tuesdays, Thursday mornings and Fridays at the moment but havent got a job yet so that might change, but hopefully see you there sometime! If you have any tips about the area that would be great, places to eat, places to take babies - any tips would be great! Thanks!

Hi LornaM,

Well last day of freedom today! Can't quite believe I'm going back after almost a year off! Oliver seems to have settled down at nursery which is a relief! I hope it goes ok for Ben.

I presume you live in the North Leeds area? We live in Moortown so our local shops are pretty good - M&S food and a good jewish bakery, Chalutz. Chapel Allerton is great and very baby friendly - in particular, Casa Mia (Italian restaurant) and Angel's Share (Bar and restaurant) and Cafe Nero is buggy central! Leeds itself isn't great with a young baby so I tend to go in without him if I want to get any shopping done!

Recreation wise we are not far from the countryside, Harewood House is about 10 mins drive out on the Harrogate road and of course Roundhay Park is pretty good!

Hope that helps!
