What's it really like working in inner Birmingham?

I'm interested in a job in Brom, at an FE college in Balsall Heath?

What would this be like? Is it rough? Anything I need to know.

I'm a quiet rural village lass. Will I get eaten alive or will I really enjoy it?

Was some time ago but I used to live and work in Brum. On the whole Birmingham has quite a rough and intimidating vibe but one on one brummies are the nicest, friendliest people ever. Odd vibe to the place but I'd move back in a heartbeat!
