Move near bridgwater

I have been offered a job in Bridgwater and don't know the area. Please help me work out where the good parts are and the parts to avoid. Schools are not a consideration but being in a fairly safe place. Happy to consider a village on the outskirts but would need some sort of public transport as my elderly mother will be moving too. Would like a fairly short commute

Places on the West side of town are generally good, so Wembdon or Durleigh area. My brother lives on an estate off Homberg Way, known locally as the NDR, and he likes it, although it seems a bit soulless to me. I live in Stogursey about 10 miles from Bridgwater and I love it, but public transport is limited. There is some, but not much. The same can be said of villages like Nether Stowey, Cannington, Spaxton, Puriton or Woolavington. They're all nice villages but transport will be the issue.
